Story Game

First, tap or click the “Random Character” button to get a main character for your story. Next, tap or click the “Random Setting” button to get an interesting setting for your story. Finally, tap the “Random Things” button to get three random things for the action of the story.

Using the setting and main character, you must invent an interesting and fantastic story that somehow includes all three random things for the action of the story (these three things can symbolize something, if you wish).

This activity works well for speaking and listening practice, but it also works well for writing practice, such as free writing. It’s a great activity for warm up too. However, there are many other ways to use this tool for effective second language practice, so please consider incorporating it into a variety of lesson plans.
